Alchemist Khong Guan Building

Staff was warm and welcoming. Food wise, the coffee and croissant were not that enjoyable. The flat white was lukewarm. Milk didn’t seem to be steamed to the optimum temperature, making the coffee rather unimpressive. Croissant was nice, with the pickle to balance out the saltiness. But it was only slightly warmed, resulting in only exterior being heated while the interior remain at room temperature. The low table makes eating a little challenging. I like the fact that there is ample space between tables, and there was no background music which could otherwise be a little noisy.

Coffee was superb. Such a chill and cool vibe with amazing window views. Alas, gorgeous pastries that sadly came tough as rubber bands. Not sure how much of it was due to being slightly microwaved (unsure how it was reheated, but definitely not oven warmed). My experience eating too many pastries would suggest the almond croissant was dry to begin with anyway. It detracted from my enjoyment of an excellent coffee. Just go for the coffee, skip the selection of 5 pastries.

Wonderfully designed building, the ambience is great though the seats are made in a way where it’s not really comfortable long term but it’s great for a short chat. Overall I really enjoyed their iced oat latte. Filter was great too btw. Happy to recommend :)
