Bean Sprout Café

📍 ʙᴇᴀɴ ꜱᴘʀᴏᴜᴛ ᴄᴀꜰÉ -Bean Sprout Café in George Town had been on my list for a while, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Nestled inside a beautifully restored heritage shophouse on Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, the café has this calm, grounded energy that makes you want to slow down the moment you step in. The rustic textures, soft lighting, and separate seating areas give it a cozy sense of privacy without feeling closed off. I came in after some sightseeing nearby, planning just a short visit, but ended up staying much longer than expected. Always nice to have a cafe stop in-between sightseeing and take the time to cool down and edit some photos. I had their rose mocha, and it was lovely, smooth, lightly floral, and not overly sweet, with just the right balance to feel refreshing without being heavy. Additionally also a lychee espresso which was very subtle but definitely worth it next to the creamier mocha.

We were actually heading to the nearby temple and thought it would be good to cool down and have a drink, and we ended up in the cafe. I felt is pretty chill with the decorations, and they have various small sections to give some form of privacy to each customer. I had the ice macha and it tasted pretty nice! My friend tried the hibiscus & lime which is equally tasty and unique in its own way. We ended up spending longer than we expected inside the cafe. Took some nice photos and relax. Good place to come next time if you're nearby.

Awesome coffee, and they even have a single origin option, I grabbed the Brazilian! The iced chocolate and pancakes with vanilla ice cream are just perfect for chilling out in Penang's hot weather. Inside, it's really nice, you get this cool, rustic, vintage old kopitiam vibe. The air conditioning is surprisingly good, which makes it a fantastic spot to escape the heat.

A quaint cafe tucked in a corner with charming vintage vibes inside. They have an excellent selection of coffee, both filter and espresso. I was craving something sweet and tried their tiramisu and when I tell you they DEFINITELY didn’t skimp on the ingredients, it was so so good! On top of that, 10/10 service, making the whole experience even better 🤩

What a beautiful little cafe. Various different coffee from around the world and they really know how to make a great coffee. Food, setting (very chilled out) and service were terrific!!
