BeanGood Café 冰穀咖啡草悟店（實際營業時間依店家FB&IG公告為主）

Arrived just after lunchtime. Waitress asked me to choose a table and wait. Soon as I chose the only section of the bench which was shaded, she then told me it’s occupied and asked me to move to another table?! She looked quite serious for some reason... I don’t like little high chairs so I chose the bench which was in direct sunlight. The owner was quite nice and helped me choose a coffee and cinnamon roll. I was satisfied with his recommendations. Half way through my coffee I had to change table because the sun got too hot. Pity about the bench area because they are the best seats in the house. If only they had shades or sunbrellas to block out the sunlight. When I went to the toilet I saw seating on the second floor which looked quite nice. Overall the experience was not bad but a few things to improve on in my humble opinion.

Great coffee spot with good selection of pour over (single origin and house blends) also espresso drinks. House made pastries with local ingredients. Fun local Taichung vibe with open ground floor.

We had a a really wonderful and memorable experience in this cafe! We initially dropped by just to buy some coffee beans but was treated to a really amazing cupping experience by the barista, who was really eager to share more about the coffee and what they do. Unfortunately there was a language barrier, but one of their female staff who spoke great English translated for him. We didn’t manage to get their names (but we hope they see this!!) We ended up getting one of their award-winning local beans which tasted amazing, and also got a lot of their drip coffee bags with cute cat illustrations to give as gifts. If that wasn’t great enough, they even gave us free pastries to-go (so yummy!) because they said we were their first customers from the Philippines 🥰 I’m so glad we decided to visit and could only wish we could have gone back to try more of their selections. The cafe’s vibe itself is very nice and quite different. Definitely a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts if you’re in this area of Taichung!

A coffee shop with a vantage vibe. Except good coffees, some tasty cakes and puddings are also available. The staff are friendly. Hot latte with a bit loquat & honey extract gives a bit refreshing flavor and aftertaste to your palate which is something special. $170 per cup. First floor is an open environment which doesn’t have air con, but the 2nd floor has it.
