I got the matcha cheesecake and it was nice to pair with the drinks. The texture was soft and creamy, and the blend of cheesecake and matcha flavors was perfectly balanced not overpowering, just smooth and satisfying. For drinks, we chose the less-sweet options and they were great. The hojicha was a really nice alternative to matcha, with a smooth, roasted flavor that wasn’t too strong. I also tried the extra rich matcha with added cloud cream, and it gave a nice kick to the matcha they use. The cream added a smoothness that made it even better. The goma drink blended really well with the cream too. nutty, rich, and not overly sweet. We also had the matcha ice cream. It had a nice balance of sweetness with a slightly bitter aftertaste, which made it feel authentic and rich. The blend of flavors made it easy and enjoyable to eat as the flavor of the matcha cut through making it a good blend. Overall, everything had a great balance of flavors rich but not too sweet. Definitely worth trying if you love matcha! They have good options as well but we visited around mid afternoon for some cold drinks

A beautiful establishment with a warm, cozy Japandi-style interior. Their dedication to matcha really comes through in the menu which includes explanations of the source and flavour profile of the different varieties they offer. We ordered the Matcha Sake Affogato, Extra Rich Matcha Latte, and Matcha Burnt Cheesecake, and enjoyed them all thoroughly. The staff were also courteous and friendly. Definitely worth a return visit.

A calm and beautifully curated space, with soft lighting and gentle music that blends effortlessly with the Christmas atmosphere. The matcha strawberry was beautifully balanced — deep, rounded matcha notes lifted by a delicate hint of sweetness and acidity. The soft-shell crab was light and crisp, the beef tender and juicy, the pork rich in aroma. Highly recommended.

We ordered the Tatami Iwashi, aged pork, Hokkaido pork, Tori Nanban, and an Uji matcha latte. Personally, we preferred the aged pork over the Hokkaido pork as it had more depth of flavour. It would be great if there was an option to swap the flavoured onigiri for a regular one, as the flavoured version had hints of ginger. That said, Everything else was delicious with no complaints at all. Loved the atmosphere too.

Had a lovely time at Cafe Gyoen. Ordered a matcha, a latte, and a snack everything tasted really good. Matcha was smooth and can choose matcha powder region. The service was friendly and attentive, and the environment was cozy and relaxing. Definitely a nice spot to chill and catch up with friends. ☕✨
