Kopi Jiran

Place is hidden and located at end of the street on an empty land. Unnoticed if not familiar. The place specifically design and built with single storey building for small retailers. Most still without tenant. Kopi Jiran is the largest unit within the place like an anchor tenant. Building designed to resemble the ambience of a 60’s kampung house. Entrance staircase mimic the Malacca kampung. There’s external verandah seatings on both sides. Internal decoration creates a nolstagic atmosphere. Sewing machine table legs, jukebox, vinyl player and lots of old black and white family photos with 60’s background. For some chairs, when sit, your height position is lower than the table, a bit akward when you eat. Place with quite full of people but seating still available. Main seating area comfortable seat around 30-40 people. Offer local Malay food including snacks like “cucur udang” and “lempeng kelapa”. Food presentation and taste quality average but portion commensurate with the affordable pricing. Customer service is attentive and personal. Waiting time surprisingly short even with many customers. Overall, okay nothing impressive, just an ordinary neighbourhood cafe serving acceptable quality dishes for families or friends. Good place for everyone, friends hangout, family meets and couples.

​I had a fantastic breakfast here. The atmosphere is very laid-back and "neighborhood" style—perfect for those who want to escape the mall crowds. ​The Food: ​Nasi Lemak: The sambal has a great depth of flavor and isn't just pure heat. The addition of kangkung is a nice touch! ​Roti Goyang: Perfectly toasted bread with those beautiful runny eggs. Simple, classic, and done right. ​The Vibe: Outdoor seating is breezy and comfortable. Plus, there was a very friendly resident cat lounging around which made the morning even better! ​Excellent spot for authentic local flavors and a chill start to the day. Will definitely be coming back!

Nice place with a cosy atmosphere and friendly service. The satay ayam was the highlight for me. Flavourful and perfectly grilled. The Lopes was also really good. The lontong was decent, though the dried shrimp taste was a bit strong for my liking. Nasi lemak was alright and the rendang was quite mild, suitable for those who don’t enjoy spicy food. Overall, a pleasant dining experience.

To find this place is quite confusing but manageable. As per its name,’Jiran’ literally needs to go through a neighbouring houses. And the road was bumpy as well. Spacious parking place. Verdict on the food: Not bad, normal just like other places. Nothing fancy. Price wise affordable. However, I received my foods contained a lot of oil. Generous amounts of it. Perhaps could reduce it a bit. It is not pleasing. Overall just ok. Ambient music when I visited, okay, not that noisy. A bit hot even got plenty of fans around but understandable cause, Malaysia kan. Nice decorations and clean surroundings. Service was super fast. Kudos.

Visited on a Tuesday morning for a solo breakfast. Overall, a great experience with just a small note on the drinks. What I liked: • Mee Kari: The gravy was thick and very flavorful. Even though it was slightly oily, the taste was spot on. • Generous Toppings: I loved how meriah the portions were, especially the kerang—a must-have for any good Mee Kari! Area for improvement: • Kopi 133: I requested a hot coffee, but it served lukewarm. It would have been perfect if it were piping hot. Verdict: I really like the vibe of this place and will definitely be back!
