This place has a great ambiance and is very aesthetically pleasing. I ordered the Viennese coffee, and it was absolutely perfect. The beef sandwich was also delicious and paired well with the coffee. What impressed me most was how reasonable the prices were considering the incredible atmosphere, excellent drinks, and quality food. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re looking for a relaxing café experience. Highly recommended! ☕️✨

During my stay in Taichung, I visited twice. I was alone so I guess it was easier to get a seat but on the second visit I did wait for quite some time. The Google list need an update as at 10:30 am on a Monday, it is already busy. On my first visit, I didn't wait for long to get a seat. I order the garlic shrimp, guacamole & omelette with sourdough, oolong tea tiramisu & pourover. The main was good & the coffee too. As I sat at the counter seat, which I like it, I got to see the barista at work. I even had a chat with the barista on the coffee I had. He was patient and nice to explain to me how the name derived and the taste of the coffee. I also bought a bag of assorted drip coffee bags. On my second visit, there was a queue and I had to put my name on the waiting list (handwritten). As I didn't have a local number, they kindly informed me to stay around outside the cafe and wait, so it is easier for them to call out for me. I went for the signature coffee, Dawn & guacamole & omelette with sourdough. It is a good place for brunch and provided you have the time to wait, not in a rush. Kindness plays both way, I believe the staff are trying their best to serve as many customers as possible. During peak hours, from my observation, though there were empty seats, they have their system to clear the customers' order batch by batch before seating a new batch of customers. I maybe wrong. I was reading the negative reviews and wondering if I should pen this down. The cafe may want to relook on the way they reply to customers' comments and some flexibility on how things work so that it's a win-win situation.

To be honest, I did not expect the food to be this good. It is usual that an aesthetic place like Phase Coffee Roasters rely mostly on vibes and skimp a little on food, but the tiramisu and the sourdough sandwiches were absolutely heavenly. I think it was the best tiramisu I have ever had, surpassing the ones I’ve tasted in Italy. The sandwiches, even a simple one of ham and egg, had a balanced flavour, the bread was perfectly soft and toasty at the same time. The herbal tea and coffee drink (picture) we had was great, too!

Visited Phase Coffee with my wife while visiting Taichung, they are located on a lane with many other cafes. Phase Coffee stood out with its simple modern yet rustic look. The store was busy when we arrived at 10am. We were lucky and had just a 5 min wait before we were seated. Others arriving after us had to register on a queue list before they were called. We ordered 2 coffees, light roast and medium dark roast with a French toast and tiramisu for breakfast. The coffee was great, you can taste the different taste notes for each of the blends, we ended up buying plenty of their drip coffee bags back. The French toast was ok, nothing fantastic, but the tiramisu was nice and moist. Loved the interior, staff were friendly although busy. They have some nice merch too!

Visited a quaint little coffee shop near our hotel and it turned out to be the best choice we did that day! They offer many different type of beans to choose from and the flat white / iced latte we got was smooth, rich, and not acidic at all. Cafe is also very aesthetic too!
