via GoogleThis place is definitely the best coffee shop around here. They use this classic espresso machine that's super rare to find anywhere else. I’ll definitely come back. 9.5/10

via GoogleThis is a newly opened branch of Piccolo Backyard Picoroastery, located a short walk from Sam Yot MRT. Second day open today - Monday 9th March! We are fans of the original Sam Yan branch so we went in search of this new place as soon as we learned it was open. It has now become one of our favourites. This branch is using a classic La Pavoni lever press espresso machine to give a smooth vintage flavour profile to the coffee made with their excellent beans. We were very fortunate to be served by the roaster/owner himself and his wife. They were very welcoming and friendly, chatting with us about the coffee and their aims for this new place, creating a lovely relaxed ambience. We recommend hot black Americanos made with each of the two beans on offer today. They were distinct and both were delicious, clean and smooth. As the cafe gets up and running it will offer a wider selection of beans. At present the two on offer - a light/medium and a medium/dark are both very good. The cafe shares space with a shop selling local Thai products and deserts giving plenty of seating every day except Mondays when, for the time being at least, the adjoining shop is closed.

via GoogleHad such a memorable experience at this café. The barista (Dong) was incredibly friendly, passionate, and clearly loves experimenting with coffee. They use a manual espresso machine, which allows full control over pressure and extraction, and you can really taste the difference. We ordered a black and a flat white using two different beans — the “Omkoi Suan P’Che process” for the black, and the “Phra Nakhon Blend” for the white. The flat white was spot on — smooth, balanced, and comforting. The first black coffee was slightly on the bitter side but had a wonderfully rich aroma. What truly stood out was the service. When we shared our feedback, the barista immediately offered to remake the black coffee — on the house. The second cup was significantly better, and comparing the two really highlighted his skill and understanding of the process. Since we were the first customers of the day, he even took the time to walk us through how the machine works and exchanged ideas with us. It felt less like a transaction and more like a genuine coffee conversation. One of the friendliest and most knowledgeable baristas I’ve met — the whole experience felt warm, thoughtful, and personal. Would absolutely come back again.
