I spent a few nights here in a private room. The place is good. Admittedly it might be nice to be a little more central, but the walk isn't that far to the downtown into the night market. My room was sparse and comfortable. The shower was good, the wi-fi worked, and they provided bottled water and towels.|The breakfast was excellent. It was included in the price and there were about four different options, one of which was vegan. I thought their coffee was pretty terrible, but I could overlook that as there were so many good coffee options in the city. I loved the cafe and hangout area. It was a perfect spot to have a bite to eat and get some work done. I had dinner one night at the cafe and thought it was excellent and very affordable. Overall I was very happy with the accommodations and would stay there again.

I had a very good stay at their hostel. Accommodating and very easy going. The staff of both the hostel and the cafe are friendly and warm— always smiling. The location is pretty accessible as well, as it's near the main road. And all that for a very affordable price. Highly recommended. 10/10 would definitely be my go to place if I come back to Vientiane.

Originally booked Sailomyen for 2 nights and booked additional 3 nights. Did not have to checkout and checkin and change rooms for the new booking which was great. Wifi internet here is great which enabled me to work and that was one of the reasons why i extended my stay here. I got the private double room which was exactly as described. There's no TV or fridge, comfortable big bed with enough lighting in the room to work. You rarely see a ventilation fan in rooms but they had one which did the job well but was noisy, good thing it can be turned off individually. They provided in room hair dryer but the cables were shorter than the usual lenght and you'll have to be close to the electrical plug. Another great thing about this place is the water pressure in the showers. The blinds do keep the sun away but slight gaps may make you feel not 100% private. Food wise its a cafe with good tasty food. Kitchen closes at 8pm. Food price not cheap or expensive, usual cafe price. Overall it has everything that i needed. Staff are friendly and nice, wifi is awesome, food and drinks are good, rooms are comfortable, great working atmosphere, didnt see people socializing if thats what you're looking for. Location is good. There might be cheaper places than Sailomyen but i'm perfectly happy here, great place.

This was one of the nicest hostels we stayed in in Asia! It’s small and quaint, the staff are really smiley, friendly and helpful. They stored our luggage as we arrived early. The food is tasty. The rooms were clean, so were the showers/bathrooms, no shoes upstairs policy. The outdoor areas were nice. It was very quiet when we stayed in October, but we liked this. Good location, short walk to the main centre. Would stay here again

The best hostel that is worth the hype and the price. Liked: The staff are very helpful and friendly. The room and bed are very comfy, though it's a little bit small. The environment is great. They even offer free breakfast and good coffee. The check-in process was quick and easy. Just a heads up, there’s no lift, so keep your large luggage in mind. The staff had a good command of English and were easy to communicate with. Disliked: The only problem is with the transfer transport. We asked them to help us book the car to the station, yet it took a while.
