Tanatap Braga hits different compared to the Matraman outlet—it feels more intimate, more textured, and more tied to its surroundings. Sitting along Braga Street, the whole experience carries that old-meets-new energy. Colonial street outside, modern café inside. The space itself leans more compact but layered. Two levels, a mix of cozy corners and open seating, with a strong visual identity—vinyl displays, spiral staircase, dim warm lighting. It’s aesthetic, but not in a loud way. More like quiet character. Coffee is solid. Smooth, well-balanced, and clearly one of their strengths. Some signature drinks like pandan coffee stand out for being slightly different but still easy to drink. Food is decent—comfort café level. A few dishes hit, a few feel standard, but nothing offensive. What makes this place work is the vibe: • good for slow mornings • late night catch-ups • people watching from inside looking out to Braga It’s less “airy and open” like Matraman, and more “moody and urban.” Downside? • can get packed, especially weekends • some seating areas feel tight or slightly uncomfortable

One of the best spots to hang out with friends—cozy vibes and a nice atmosphere. Their coffee is really good, and I especially liked the flavored coffee and their canelé, which was such a treat! Just a heads-up: they have a minimum order of 60k per person for dine-in. Overall, a great place to relax and enjoy good coffee with good company. ☕🍮✨

Tried this coffee shop when a friend from Jakarta came to visit. There happened to be some kind of culinary event going on, and since it was the weekend, the place was quite packed. We had to wait a bit for a non-smoking table. The non-smoking area (on the first floor) is smaller since it shares the space with the bar, while the smoking area upstairs is more spacious. To be honest, the non-smoking section, though aesthetic with shelves full of vinyl records, feels a bit claustrophobic, especially the small corner room. The circular staircase looks pretty, but some parts of the railing are missing, which doesn’t feel entirely safe. Upstairs is brighter, but the seating area surrounds an open space that looks down to the floor below. The railings have wide gaps between the bars, so if you’re afraid of heights, I wouldn’t recommend going up there. Even I felt a bit uneasy! Also, they served our drinks in plastic cups even though we were dining in, which is a big no for me.

We came here for breakfast around 10 am on a Saturday and it was a pleasant experience overall. One thing I really appreciated was that we didn’t have to wait for a table at all. Despite it being the weekend, the place wasn’t overly crowded, which made our breakfast feel relaxed and unhurried. The waiting time for food was also reasonable, around 15 minutes, which is quite good considering it was peak breakfast timing. The restaurant has two levels of seating, giving plenty of space for guests. Both levels were clean and well-maintained, toilet at level 2 and the overall environment felt comfortable and welcoming. It’s a nice spot to sit down and enjoy a proper breakfast without feeling rushed. For drinks, we ordered a Caramel Macchiato and a Strawberry Tea. The Strawberry Tea was refreshing and enjoyable, while the Caramel Macchiato was definitely my favourite : smooth, well-balanced and honestly one of the best I’ve had in a while. For food, we tried Nasi Goreng Mawut, Nasi Goreng Merah, Tanatap Bakmie Ayam and Nasi Ayam Charsiu. Some dishes were just okay and fairly standard but the standout for us was definitely the Nasi Goreng Mawut. It was flavourful, satisfying and easily the best dish we ordered. The Nasi Ayam Charsiu and Bakmie Ayam were decent, though nothing too memorable. Overall, it was a good breakfast experience with fast service, a clean and comfortable setting and a few standout items. I would come back again, especially for the Nasi Goreng Mawut and the drinks.

Nice café with a friendly bartender at Tanatap Café. The atmosphere is comfortable, the service is great, and the staff are very welcoming (he's name Rafli or Rian I forgot). Overall, a really good place to relax and enjoy your time. Highly recommended!
