No, Brooklyn is not famous for their coffee and the place doesn't seem particularly Japanese... on the surface. But it's a really comfortable space to hang out in the morning. Good natural light, spacious. Nice ambient music that's the right volume no matter where you sit, perfectly equalized. Great cup of drip coffee the few mornings we hung out there. Had a Japanese style BLT with a huge amount of high quality lettuce, Japanese bacon which is more like Canadian bacon, some kind of anchovy sauce that adds umami. Nice staff. Recommended.

Coffee is nice, average for roaster coffee shop. Nice atmosphere, sun light shining perfectly in and the wind blowing through the doors. Good songs though. Would be much better if there's hospitality from front end staff.

The americano I ordered was pretty good, no complaints on the coffee. I came here to use the wifi, and hang out in the space. Some of the tables were reserved and it was very busy inside. But a nice place to do work or be on your laptop.
