Core Cafe

The ambience is nice. We sat indoors but there there outdoor seatings too which seems to be pet-friendly. We ordered the Carbonara with Beef Bacon, Pesto Chicken Sandwich and Aglio Olio with Mushrooms and Duck. The Pesto Chicken Sandwich was good. I’d order it again. Overall experience was good.

Lovely ambience; a great spot for working, reading, or simply catching up with friends. I enjoyed both the food and drinks, though the food could’ve been served warmer. Apparently there was a mix-up when the waiter, who also took my order, couldn’t locate me at my table. That aside, I’d still come back to try more from their menu as they offer quite a good selection of food and drinks.

Food is good and the ambience is pleasant, but the service really needs improvement. The café doesn’t allow self-ordering via their website, so customers have to order at the counter. We stood by the counter for about 5 minutes — the staff saw us but did not acknowledge our presence or make any eye contact. When it was finally our turn to order, the experience was disappointing as the staff’s attitude was unfriendly and unwelcoming. Advice to the café/owner: Consider using system for ordering, or providing proper customer service training, especially for those in customer-facing roles. It would make a big difference to the overall experience.

Food and drinks are good. Price is very reasonable. Not charging extra for alternative Oat Milk which is commendable. I've read some other commented about their staff/service, but I'm all good with their service even though they are not those who give you big smile and energetic interaction.

We visited this place after lunch at Ee Hiong, just a 3-minute walk away. Core Cafe is quite hidden, but it has a very cozy and relaxing ambience. We ordered their signature cakes — the Pandan Gula Melaka and Banana Peanut Butter. Both were absolutely delicious, priced at RM17 per slice. Will definitely come again whenever I’m around Ara Damansara.
