Early Bird Coffee Roasters operate a thoroughly impressive setup located inside Marché Beauvau, Paris. My visit was reasonably swift, but whilst there I enjoyed a flat white and espresso du jour, both of which were expertly prepared. Beyond the coffee, I had the privilege of meeting and chinwagging with the man behind Early Bird, Joseph. There’s no doubting Joseph’s commitment to roasting excellent coffee, as well as his endeavour to share the delights of speciality coffee beyond the domain of coffee nerds. The cafe itself fits a lot into a relatively small footprint - in addition to roasting and preparing coffee, there’s a wealth of curated artisanal products on offer, including a sizeable library of Early Bird’s own coffees. It would’ve been remiss of me to leave without a bag of coffee, so after a brief discussion with Joseph about the flavour and roast profile I wanted, he recommended one of Early Bird’s prize-winning coffees, ‘San Juan Intibuca’. Since returning home, I’ve extracted several shots of espresso using this coffee, and it’s bloody delightful. Whether you’re a coffee snob, or just a general coffee drinker, Early Bird is absolutely worth a visit. And, if you live in Paris, make Early Bird your local.

Super happy to find a decent coffee bean store in Paris. Finally! As others have said, Joseph the owner, is a friendly and knowledgeable chap. He advised on his coffee bean selection and I'm looking forward to trying them. The espresso du jour and lemon olive oil cake were also tasty. I will be returning without hesitation.

I’m glad I found this place, it’s difficult to find really good coffee in Paris in the past 2 weeks i’ve been here. Early Bird coffee is excellent. Perfectly made and tastes really good. I’m a barista back home in Malaysia, and I find the coffee here to be really good.

My first day in Paris, this was my second stop in search for a coffee and for the next 2 days my only stop. The filter and espresso both are really good. Learnt quite a few things about coffee beans and brewing in the interesting discussions at the roastery and tried to emulate them with the Brazil espresso beans at home and was delicious. They are doing really good work. Definitely I will visit again the next time in Paris. Its worth the stop for a delicious cup in case you are in Paris. Small tip: if you see the olive oil cake - get a piece.
