Cute little matcha shop tucked inside Telok Ayer Coffee Shop. It’s my third time here - and for good reason. The matcha is thick, creamy, and not overly sweet. Comes at a good price too. A go-to whenever I’m in the area!

Strawberry matcha latte was good. Worth a try if you're in CBD but don't need to make a special trip to have it. Pity the blueberry one was not available. Ordered this around 11.30am, no queue.

The matcha tastes a bit sandy, not very smooth. But for the price, very good. The queue is quite long but the turnover is pretty fast, didn’t have to wait long. One thing to note is that they only serve cold matcha.

If you’re a matcha lover working in the CBD, you’ll want to check out Green Green, a new matcha spot located inside Telok Ayer Coffee Shop. Opened on 1st August, this minimalist matcha stall offers ceremonial-grade matcha lattes for just $6 — easily one of the most affordable and quality matcha spots in the area. What sets Green Green apart is their commitment to quality. They use ceremonial matcha, freshly whisked 2–3 times upon order to ensure a rich, thick consistency. Unlike many other cafes, their matcha is cold whisked with milk, so the drink isn’t watered down by ice or dilution. For those mindful of sweetness, they also offer a less sweet option for matcha drinks and even the choice of sugar or no sugar for hojicha — a thoughtful touch. I tried three drinks on my visit: * Matcha Latte ($6)
This is the go-to for purists. Bold, creamy, and well-balanced, the ceremonial matcha shines through with its smooth umami notes of nori, walnut, and edamame. It’s slightly bitter but refined, with the milk complementing rather than overpowering the matcha. Honestly, at this price point, it’s a steal for the quality. * Strawberry Matcha Latte ($7)
Made with real strawberry puree blended with fresh fruit, this was a refreshing twist. The strawberry was tangy and naturally sweet, pairing beautifully with the earthy, umami matcha. It wasn’t sugary at all — more like a homemade fruit compote — and I loved how the strawberry added brightness without masking the matcha. * Goma Hojicha Latte ($7)
A standout for me. The hojicha has deep notes of dark chocolate, oolong, and chestnut, with a strong roasty aroma. Paired with nutty black sesame goma sauce, this drink was toasty, smoky, and indulgent. The aroma of the goma hits you immediately, and the combination was unexpectedly addictive. Go for the option with sugar added so that it is not too bitter! For fruitier options, Green Green also offers blueberry and strawberry matcha lattes made with fresh fruit purees. Since they’re located in the heart of the CBD, lunch hours get packed — I recommend going before noon to skip the office crowd. Currently, they’re open weekdays only, from 9.30 am to 3 pm — perfect for your mid-morning pick-me-up or post-lunch treat. With its quality, affordability, and inventive flavour pairings, Green Green proves that you don’t have to splurge to enjoy good matcha in the CBD. Definitely worth adding to your weekday ritual if you work nearby!

Quaint little matcha stall in Telok Ayer Coffee shop, serving decently-priced matcha! Smooth and creamy matcha latte, the sweetness is just right. Could be more thick (perhaps need to request for this next time). The stall is decorated with cute Smiski figurines 🥰 added a touch of characteristic to this place. Will come back again for sure!
