In desperate need of a coffee and some breakfast, I headed to this great little spot in Venice. I had a great pour over decaf coffee that was so well balanced without a trace of bitterness. The breakfast tacos were on point and filled to the brim with eggy fillings. Great space on the patio to chill, and very helpful waitstaff who are great recommendations. Yum!

Groundwork on Rose is one of those Venice coffee spots that still feels connected to the neighborhood. Good coffee, easygoing vibe, and just enough local character to make it feel more grounded than trendy. It’s a great stop whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso, settling in for a casual chat, or doing the classic Venice thing of pretending one coffee equals a productive morning. The space is relaxed, the staff are friendly, and the coffee is consistently solid. Pro tip: Grab a coffee and take a walk down Rose — it’s one of the better little Venice routines

Nice place. The latte is tasty with a firm, bouncy foam, and the avocado sandwich is pretty good too. They have outdoor seating as well as a few tables inside.

FINALLY a coffee shop that serves solid dark roast drip coffee. I’d say Groundwork is one of the few coffee shops I’ve noticed that is more coffee-forward. Food is still very good, but comes second—something that us slightly picky coffee connoisseurs really appreciate when we’re really just looking forward to a satisfying cup of coffee. Its range of range of high quality roasts paired with its casual, local-feeling atmosphere really makes it a true gem.

This coffee spot in Venice is fantastic! You absolutely have to try their horchata cold brew—it’s got the perfect caffeine kick and just the right sweetness. Plus, the atmosphere is so nice and has great vibes.
