Lao Pottery House

Visiting this pottery house was my best experience in Luang Prabang and one I will remember forever. I went for the one hour pottery workshop, but id love to come back and do the tour. My teacher explained the techniques and tools and guided me throughout the pottery making. It was really fun. I then enjoyed a coffee and chatted with the owner and he told me a bit more about the ancient art of pottery making. I really enjoyed that moment. It’s a bit hard to get yourself there from Luang Prabang if you don’t have a motorbike, id recommend the half day tour where they pick you up :)) Great experience, thank you!!

We had an amazing half day at the Pottery House. Our lovely guide Mr Tiam was so knowledgeable and shared loads of information about pottery in Laos. Would absolutely recommend this wonderful place!

We had lots of fun at this pottery class. A great experience overall: Our guide was really nice, the food was great, and the pottery class itself very fun, while we were also able to make a nice piece (or 2). Would recommend!!

This was possibly our highlight of our Laos trip. The most beautifully crafted venue all from the mind of two brothers, such a special family initiative, and seriously beautiful. The workshop was fantastic, thank you so much to all the staff. We felt so taken care of and hope that more people make the effort to come over to this side to see this spot. 110% worth it.

Wow!! What an amazing , beautiful, intentional, inspiring day. We had been told by a local to go to the pottery village with our two young children 4 and 6 and i am so please we did! When we arrived we were met with smiles and warmth, we explained we had not booked, after a few moments we were told this was not a problem and they can sort it out. We were gifted tea and taken over to the workshop, this space is stunning! Surrounded by pots and traditional wheels we were excited! After a demonstration and explanation in amazing English we started our own pots! Each of us had a potter dedicated to supporting us create our pot - we(adults) made 2 pots each and the children made a bowl and several animals each. The session was calm no rush and soooo supportive.. my youngest was a little unsure at the beginning but they were so kind and patient with her. We asked if we would be able to take our pots home and this was all arranged. We have been away for 6 weeks in SE Asia and I can honestly say that this experience was one of the best!! The space is stunning and the people are amazing. Unforgettable!
