Mofika Roastery Coffee

Mofika massively exceeded my expectations. We were on the way to Bandar Botanic when we saw the traffic ... so detour baby ! So yeah, was surprised at the top notch service in Mofika. They were nice and the attention to detail was noticeable. Four of us came in and two were intrigued by the exact same thing, the Mushroom Eggs Benny. Visually striking dish and a interesting variation. Mushrooms were sauteed and some were fried to a dramatic effect. I will say though no Hollandaise sauce which is usually on Eggs benny. Instead its a miso hummus aioli. It pairs well though. Next, the Japanese Hamburg encapsulated in a bagel is massive. Good stuff there and the chips that came with this was truly superb. I had Balinese pulled pork on toasted sourdough with a sunny side up. Well executed and very yummy. Even the salad was no slouch. Very citrusy and zesty. Eden Rush drink was a concoction of expresso with jasmine tea and apple juice. Was decent but next time I am gonna test their Flat White. The Longan Osmanthus was said to be refreshing. Muscat grape was a cold brew mix and its something worth trying. Overall this spot is a great place to chill. Before we left I got a pretzel bagel takeaway ... they heated it up. Was a delicious bagel. I remember in 2009 trying to get a decent bagel in KL and there was none. Now we have great bagels in Klang !

Had a really good brunch here — comforting flavours, nicely put together, and the portions were just right. The beverage was the highlight for me: smooth, aromatic, and clearly roasted with care. The space is calm and thoughtfully designed, making it a lovely spot to slow down with a great cup of coffee. Definitely a place I’d return to for both brunch and brews.

First Impressions Count! Not family friendly! Not a single baby chair! Not kids friendly! Staff indifferent! Food and Drinks tasty! Though a nice café with beautiful décor and ambience, but unfortunately not very friendly toward kids. It’s more suitable for couples or small adult groups than families with young children. We decided to visit after my daughter found the place on Google and thought it looked interesting. The setting was indeed attractive, though the stained seats took away a little from the otherwise lovely interior. My two year old grandson was standing and moving slightly on the already stained sofa seat when a waiter politely asked us to remove his clean baby shoes. We complied, though it did dampen our appetite a little , still we decided to let it pass as we were there for the first time. We ordered the Salmon Chazuke and Citrus Fruits Waffle. Both dishes were beautifully prepared and delicious. The waffle, especially, was crisp and delightful. It reminded me of those classic A&W waffles some years ago not anymore ! The young waiter who first served us was polite and hospitable, but the rest of the staff, though clearly not busy, seemed disengaged, chatting among themselves, playing with their phones , showing little interest in customers and not offering a friendly smile or greeting , not even to the friendly bubbly baby . Ironically, the only time we saw their warmth was when we were leaving, with a few smiles and a well rehearsed parting “thank you.” Would I come again? Probably not. It’s a nice café with good food and desserts, but the lack of friendliness, warmth, and genuine hospitality makes it less inviting. For families, especially those with little ones, the atmosphere doesn’t feel welcoming. After all, good food and décor may attract customers once, but it’s kindness and hospitality that bring them back.

The waffles were a highlight - crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and generously topped with fruits, seeds, and a scoop of ice cream that balanced everything nicely. Coffee-wise, there was a fun mix of flavors. The hojicha cloud had a rich, toasty depth, while the coconut matcha was smooth and creamy. The muscat grape coffee was the standout - light, fruity, and super refreshing, perfect for something a little different. Even the dirty coffee was well-balanced and easy to drink.

My partner and I decided to have evening tea at this place. We shared the Original Burnt Cheese cake. We loved it, as the taste was good. It’s creamy and the right burnt on the cake. I had Mocha and my partner had Longan Osmanthus. I felt my Iced Mocha drink was quite bitter even with the mixture of chocolate. My partner’s Longan Osmanthus was way better. I must say that it’s an individual preference and everyone should try.
