via GoogleSlow Bakes has quickly become one of my favourite spots whenever I’m craving a good sourdough avocado toast without paying a premium café price. Honestly, it’s probably one of the most affordable places I’ve found for a proper sourdough avocado toast, and the quality makes it even more worth it. One thing I always do here is request the gluten-free sourdough option, and they prepare it really well. The toast comes out with a beautifully crisp exterior and a satisfying crunch, while still maintaining a pleasant texture inside. It doesn’t feel dry or overly hard like some gluten-free breads can be, which I really appreciate. The smashed avocado portion is extremely generous, which immediately stood out to me. Some places tend to spread it very thinly, but here you get a proper layer that makes each bite creamy and satisfying. Paired with the crunchy sourdough, the texture combination is just perfect. I also like to upgrade the toast into a set, which comes with soft-boiled eggs and kopi. The eggs are simple but comforting, and the kopi complements the meal nicely — very local, very satisfying. What really elevates the whole experience is the ambience. Sitting there with a pond view, enjoying a simple but well-executed breakfast set, just feels incredibly relaxing. The vibe is calm and unpretentious, making it a great place to slow down and enjoy a quiet moment with good food. Overall, Slow Bakes is a spot I’d happily return to again and again — great value, generous portions, comforting flavours, and a peaceful atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a satisfying avocado toast with a nice view and without breaking the bank, this is definitely worth checking out.

via Googleordered their “big breakfast set for two” that comes with 2 drinks, 4 soft boiled eggs, 4 toasts. their avocado with chia seed spread was generous and tasty! went around 12.30pm and sadly they’ve ran out of sourdough, had to choose baguette instead which texture was a tad too hard. overall a nice chill environment to brunch in if you’re in Yishun.

via GoogleLove visiting this place for a simple breakfast or brunch. The avocado chia seed sourdough portion is generous enough for one person. I really enjoy the nature views and peaceful ambience. It would be great to have more food options, and personally, I hope the coffee could be improved.

via Googleif you’re a bread and peace lover, you’ll really like this place. other than the buzzing crowd during peak hours, the scenery in itself is calming. toasted sourdough with avocado was good and conscientiously-priced. cinnamon bun was good too, hopefully a little more toasted. its obvious they used good quality eggs, but perhaps they haven’t gotten the hang of temperature and timing, it was a tad bit lumpy. overall, would recommend a visit to chill here.
