Café OPITZ im Goethehaus

Although this place is inviting, really cosy and with very friendly service, I was not convinced. The coffee was too bitter for my taste and the pie was also nothing special (mine was a bit dry, the cheesecake of my boyfriend was a bit tastier). A pity but maybe we just had bad luck with the pies.

Very cool coffee shop. I’m contrast to everything else in the area, it seems to cater for the locals. Did not try any of the cakes on display, but the coffee was top class.

Went here twice within the last month. Had different cakes and coffee. Cakes are fresh and taste delicious reasonable priced for the city center. I would recommend the Blackforest cake which is authentic German. All other pastries and pies I tried were delicious too. Atmosphere and seating is comfy but since the room is rather small and there's no music the mood can be a bit awkward.
